A Graceful Greek Wedding in Georgia

November is a truly magical time of year for the Virginia Grace Social Family. It is a season filled with joyful memories, abundant love, and several wedding anniversaries, might we add. It seems only fitting to share a wedding story that is overflowing with deep love, and perfectly planned with details meaningful to the heart of VGS. Sweet friends, what an honor it is to share Alexia and Santiago’s graceful Greek wedding, captured exceptionally well by the sweet Lauren Carnes.

Alexia and Santiago’s Greek inspired wedding set in Atlanta, Georgia will leave you feeling as if you are floating on air with a joyful heart. They crafted an authentically well-planned wedding focused on honoring their great heritages and the beautiful legacies so lovingly laid before them. Alexia and Santiago’s wedding celebration was the perfect representation of two cultures joining together as one. They were married in a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Atlanta, the same church that Alexia’s parents exchanged vows in years ago. In traditional Colombian fashion, Santiago’s mother accompanied him at the altar, as his elegantly bohemian styled bride made her way down the aisle.

The heritage honoring traditions continued throughout the evening, as Alexia and Santiago danced the evening away in traditional Greek and Colombian salsa dances- a fabulously fun celebration to behold. Alexia incorporated olive branches to her floral designs as a tribute to the iconic Greek olive trees. Guests were graciously thanked with handcrafted pottery jugs, filled with authentic Greek olive oil made from Alexia’s Grandfather’s olive trees at his home in Greece. The handcrafted theme continued as guests savored the “Grooms Brew”, Santiago’s personal brewed beer that uniquely stood in place of a groom’s cake.
