Virginia Grace Social is inspired by the effortless romantic intimacy of Devan and Taylor’s wedding. Their day exudes a simplistic and true ambiance that is wildly sexy. Each moment of their wedding planning process and their whimsical intimate wedding day was focused on cultivating a fine marriage. As the bride put it, the theme of their day was their legacy as a couple. We love it!

Letter From The Bride

What are you most looking forward to about your life together and how did that play into your wedding?

Taylor and I are both always up for an adventure! The first year we dated, we were sick of the Wisconsin winter and decided to hop on a plane and go to California with a week's notice. The next summer we went on a three-week road trip out to the coast of California and back camping, staying with friends, and getting hotels along the way. We love hiking, biking, paddle boarding, and exploring anywhere new.

When I decided to leave my full-time job and pursue my dream of starting my own business, Taylor supported me and backed my decision when a lot of others didn't understand. When Taylor wanted to join the Marines and pursue his dream of becoming a helicopter pilot, I supported him the same way he supported me.

As we're about to go on the adventure of a lifetime, it only makes sense that we've decided to turn our wedding into a little adventure too! My family is in Wisconsin and Taylor's is in Illinois, but we wanted to have the wedding in Virginia where we're kicking off our married life together! The smaller, elopement style wedding fits our adventurous and slightly unconventional lifestyle.

How did you plan your wedding and what ties everything together?

Honestly, the thing that ties it all together is us. We don't have a set theme or even color scheme. Taylor is in the marines so that is going to be a big part of our lives together. The Semper Fidelis Memorial Chapel was gorgeous and open with all glass windows, yet intimate with its smaller space. A friend of ours in the Marines actually told us about the Potomac Shores Golf Club. This space was open with big windows and an outdoor venue, which is perfect for us to be able to get outside and explore a little bit! It was also intimate enough for our smaller wedding. Simple, minimal, and focused on us, our love, and starting a new adventure together.
