It was nearly 15 minutes into the ceremony, when a summer rain storm suddenly down poured in the middle of Brandon’s vows. The rain may have led to a quick intermission in Tessa + Brandon’s wedding ceremony, but there was certainly no intermission in personal details throughout their rustic + elegant family estate wedding.
Tessa + Brandon’s engagement story began four years earlier when the couple met by chance at a local Chicago watering hole. After a few years of dating, Brandon proposed over a romantic dinner while celebrating their fourth anniversary together. Brandon artfully designed Tessa’s engagement ring, incorporating the center stone from her mother’s engagement ring.
When it came to planning their wedding, Tessa + Brandon agreed that they wanted a wedding that uniquely celebrated their love story and legacy. They were instantly drawn to the idea of getting married at Tessa’s father’s estate in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The 300-acre farm served as the site for many family gatherings throughout the years, and was a natural venue choice for their elegantly rustic wedding day. The lakeside family estate made for the perfect backdrop to many other meaningful wedding details, including the seating arrangement, which featured the names of restaurants that Tessa + Brandon shared fond memories at during their dating years.
Tessa + Brandon’s effortlessly elegant wedding is a true testament of what it means to plan a thoughtful wedding that is true to your love story and legacy. Even in the middle of an unexpected summer rain storm, their love and happiness was at the center of their wedding- what better way to begin a purposeful newlywed life and legacy than that?!
